well, if wifi is a "must have" as you say, then you need to compromise on the screen and get the paired down version of the Transformer it seems

It looks like I may have to anyway. It looks like a lot of places no longer sell the Prime. I called a number of stores already.

After much self deliberation, I ended up picking up the TF300. I must say, it's so good. I looked at both the TF201 (Prime) and the TF300. Clearly, the TF201 had a "brighter" screen display but the TF300 is no slouch at all. A buddy of mine allowed me to play around with both models at his store for about an hour or so. I walked around the store checking out the wifi on both. What reviews and complaints about the Prime is true. At least when I tested it, it was true. The wifi was weaker and it did cut out in different areas the further I went away from their router. The TF300's connection varied but never cut out. I watched a few 1080p and 720p clips off Youtube and it was smooth. No framerate and lag issues.
