Tip of the Day!! - Post yours!

Thought maybe people can post some on-the-spot ideas that people have come up with to work around problems while shooting!

Here's one from me. - Similar to a previous situation where i was trying to shoot a subject in a tub from above but my head kept hitting the ceiling, i was shooting yesterday and i couldn't get enough room to frame the shot while i was pressed up against the wall (using my 24-70 2.8).

    My solution? Switch to LiveView!!

Instead of needing to look through the viewfinder behind the camera, I was able to get my body and head out of the way of the camera, back the camera body up closer to the ceiling/wall, using the LCD screen to frame and focus from an angle. It gave me 4-5 extra inches to back the camera up and get the wider shots i needed. Handy feature!

You know, my first digital camera was a Canon G2. What a great camera and I still miss the great articulated LCD on that thing for these types of situations. Man I miss it. Great tip, the other thing you can do is use a small mirror against the wall and then you can pretty much push the camera to within an inch of the wall and still see the (reflected) images.
