    D800 test shots

    Just a quick compare.....
    D7000 vs D800 high ISO 25600
Keep in mind jpeg quality was "lowered" for d800 to try to fit the damn thing in flickr.
f16, no flash used. Same shooting position.
This is not a jpg converted from the camera... this was from the RAW, which was then converted to jpg..... The damn D800 made a 40mb jpeg, when I boosted the quality to "12" in adobe.

I have to say I am mighty impressed.... I could have pushed down the megapixel count on the d800 to get a cleaner image, but didnt.
    Cheers!

Man, why couldn't you have received it a couple of weeks ago so I could steal it. You're just not much of a team player...

Congratulations and looking forward to some great shots.

25600 is the max for the D7000. Still useable too

But D800 looks nice and clean. Now will you actualyl shoot 25600 somewhere?

so which of these 2 photos is correct? different colors on the wall. were both set at auto white balance?

auto wb yes. The d800 does a better job at rendering the colours.... HOWEVER that could be due to the difference in sensor sensitivity.......if you take a look at the exifs, you will see the shutter speeds. The d800 sensor I assume could take in more light, hence able to use a quicker shutter speed.

i hear that the D800 WB is slightly warmer anyway. That might be it. No biggie.
