i thought you were trying to make it into NPS, I don't think the D600 will qualify as NPS gear.

Well I applied with my 2 D800's.. havent heard back, so Im not going to wait around. Who knows... if the D300 can be a "pro" camera, why not the d600. :P.
    Cheers!

If the D300 qualified, the D600 should too.

D300/D300s is a pro crop camera.
    D600 is "marketed" for consumers.

fair enough. But what does that mean, really?
There must be some specifications that determine this. Is it amount of weather sealing, etc.? Curious to know what the cut off is.

Updated specs. 95% sure these are the correct specs. Launch should be sometime tonight anyways.
So Yes, it is an FX.
Chopper, i believe it depends on the amount of weather sealing on the camera. since the D600, is somewhere between the D7000(non-pro) and the D700(pro), Im not sure where its going to fall. So if the D600 was meant to replace the D700, then it "should" be considered pro.... if its just seen as a FX D7000, then probably not.

the 5.5fps is nice... with a grip, it can probably do about 6.5-7fps.... Time will tell. A great supplement to my D800 that can only do 4fps... about 5 with grip.
    Cheers!

Normally i would say why do most people even need that many shots per second, but then again, I'm not taking photos of tank shells exploding and capturing the aftermath!

Well, its not just that. You can apply that in genre that you shoot... just a matter of how fast you need. i.e
Much easier to catch that perfect shot during a bouquet/garter toss. Or nailing that perfect shot as couples walk down the isle... with you walking backwards with them...
or capturing a dancer mid flight in studio, or using every frame in a shot to compose an image to show movement. Endless possibilities... more features.. more fun.
    Cheers!
