yeah, obvious troll article. But to write in that the money she made simply disappeared was kind of a cheap cop out. I'm sure these shooters make money, they just dont get the value for their time.
I love how she mocks people who call themselves pro and charge $500 a wedding. Great article haha.
Honestly... 8+ hours on site, another 5+ hours in post, + camera equipment +traveling costs for $500.... your better off working at H&M at like $10/hr + commision. At least you get off work at 6pm on the weeekends and can still have a life.
Cheers!
the point of the article is to let the photographers (specially newbies) know that charging way to cheap is not the best way to go...
or going pro and making it worth your while is not as easy as it looks.
Cheers!
This is a good article to have handy when a couple quotes another photographer as charging $500 http://www.petapixel.com/2012/04/23/...g-photos-ever/
750 pounds is not a trifling amount to pay for photography. Those look just terrible. I feel so bad for the couple. The fact that one of the photographers explained that they couldn't use flash because she was prone to epileptic reactions is bizarre. And there were two of them shooting that day, making both of them incompetent! Yikes.
Some people are susceptible to seizures when exposed to strobes. But usually those are the rapid fire "stop motion" kind of strobes.
