Thought I'd see if there is any interest from the new members here on a workshop to go over studio lighting and working with models. ;)
Basically,
- go over studio lighting basics;
- set up and demonstrate different lighting set ups and different modifiers and what they do;
- basic steps to setting up a photoshoot,
- finding a model, working with make up artists, etc.;
- actual shooting with an experienced live model during the workshop with some of the lighting set ups learned.
Basically, a good overview of the fundamentals of shooting with models so you can use these skills to build your own shoots or improve your current skills right now.
Workshop would be on a cost-shared basis between the participants to cover any costs.

Great, sounds like there is interest. I will look for a date and set up an official event. Hope to meet you all then!
This will be an interactive workshop, not a shoot out. The focus will be on actually learning what you are doing and how to play with lighting, not just shooting away he he
Participants might also want to bring one of their favorite images from a magazine too so we can break it down and figure out how it was lit.
**also - bonus LOL, is that anyone who takes my lighting workshops will qualify for a more advanced workshop/event photoshoot later on this summer where there is no time to teach lighting and it will be restricted to non-beginners** :)

I have attended one of Chooper's (Ed) lighting workshops before and it was very informative.
I highly recommend it.

OK, I am thinking right now of March 28 or 29th after work, say 6pm. 4-5 hours or so, depending on what the participants would like to try out.
If a lot of people who expressed interest have an issue with that, please chime in.
Cheers

can't do either day... both days I have class during that time :(
Can you give me an idea where the shoot would be held? I would be taking GO train and TTC to get there.

I'm going to post a sign up with the number of people i think i can comfortably manage, that's it.
So unless the guest is a member here and will sign up, probably not, since it will be crowded.
