Nikon 85mm 1.8D or Nikon 85mm 1.8G?

I've been debating for the longest time about which 85mm prime to get. There doesn't seem to be any decent reviews out there on the G, and I hear nothing but praise for the D.

From his tests, it seems like that the D is VERY soft at f1.8, when compared to the G..... however his tests weren't in a controlled environment so I'm skeptical.....

Should I hold out on the G for 600+ dollars after tax, or the D for 300 bucks?

over at FM some guy did a comparison shooting against the charts and it showed that his copy of the 1.8G was the sharpest out of all the current 85s (1.4D/G and 1.8D/G)

Fred Miranda's is a guy who has a pretty good photography site. It's pretty cool and they have both a Canon and Nikon forum along with a bunch of other forums (wedding, etc) which are pretty great.

I'm thinking of the 85 f/1.8g, from what little I've read seems to be a winner. I'll probably not get it, but it would be either this or the Sigma 85 f/1.4 which is a little more but sounds great.
